Our Story
There's a particular kind of evening in Kolkata - humid air, the scent of mogra drifting in from a nearby stall, a quiet ritual unfolding the way it has for generations. That feeling is where House of Mogra begins.
We're named after the mogra, the jasmine flower that has perfumed Bengali evenings and adorned Bengali women for as long as anyone can remember. It's a small, unassuming flower. But it carries something larger - nostalgia, femininity, quiet luxury that doesn't ask to be noticed, only felt.
That's the idea we build every saree around.

Our mission is simple: celebrate India's textile heritage - Banarasi, Chanderi, South cotton, Bengal weaves and bring it into everyday wardrobes without losing what makes it timeless. We want sarees to be lived in, not just kept for occasions. Worn on a Tuesday as easily as a wedding.
We believe heritage shouldn't be locked away in trunks or reserved for the rarest of days. It should be accessible, wearable, and yours.

Our pieces are built around traditional techniques - handloom weaving, block printing, embroidery, and regional dyeing methods passed down through generations of artisans. We choose slower, artisan-led processes over mass production, because a saree made by hand carries something a machine never will.
The artisans we work with aren't just producers. They're co-creators -contributing ideas, motifs, and techniques that shape what a piece eventually becomes. We'd rather preserve that authenticity than dilute it for a passing trend.
